SIHH 2015: Montblanc – Heritage Chronométrie Quantième Annuel Vasco da Gama
Montblanc’s Heritage Chronométrie Collection incorporates a fascinating and sensibly evaluated yearly schedule watch.
Displayed during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2015, the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Quantième Annuel Vasco da Gama requires an intercession to change the date just once consistently.
Truth be told, the yearly schedule (or Quantième Annuel) consequently “knows” the lengths of the entire months from March to January. The watch will require a manual revision just on the last 12 PM in February to change from the 28th or 29th of February to the first of March.
On any remaining days of the year, the watch gives exact calendrical data through four subdials: one for the day at 9 o’clock, another for the month at 12 o’clock, a third for the date at 3 o’clock and a fourth for the moon-stage show at 6 o’clock which is implanted in a portrayal of the atmosphere in the Southern Hemisphere as it appeared to the Portuguese pilgrim Vasco de Gama in 1497.
To show the periods of the moon, the blue-lacquered star grouping holds a gap for a brilliant turning circle beneath including the moon in the night sky.
The yearly schedule component is encased in a 40-mm-measurement case that ascents a simple 9.5 mm from back to front.
The shimmering white dial has a sunburst design; the gold-plated faceted files and the numeral “12” are applied to the dial. Two faceted gold-plated blade formed hands demonstrate the hours and minutes while the hands of the schedule signs are blued.
A sketch of Vasco da Gama’s gliding lead, the São Gabriel, is engraved on the sheet of sapphire gem for the situation back with the mark of the sailor.
Oneself winding mechanical development beats at 28,800 vibrations each hour and offers a force hold of roughly 42 hours. Like all the watches of the Heritage Chronométrie Collection, the Quantième Annuel Vasco da Gama goes through the Montblanc Laboratory test 500, a 500-hour assessment which ensures the nature of each piece with an individual authentication.
