Pre-SIHH 2015: Baume et Mercier – Clifton Automatic Big Date Power Reserve
From Baume et Mercier we have another curiosity for the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie that will be held one month from now (Geneva, 19-23 January): the Clifton Automatic Big Date and Power Reserve.
The 43 mm diameter cleaned and silk completed hardened steel case is pretty forcing. Drawing motivation from a 1950s model, it outlines a domed glossy silk completed and silver-hued dial with overlaid Arabic numerals and records. The large date is shown in a gap at 12 o’clock while at 6 o’clock we locate a little blued hand demonstrating the force save.
Oneself winding ETA-based type, noticeable through the straightforward sapphire precious stone case back, beats at 28,800 vibrations each hour with a force save of 42 hours. The swaying weight is engraved with the Greek letter Phi, image of the brilliant proportion or heavenly extent and the brand’s logo.
The Baume et Mercier Clifton Automatic Big Date and Power Reserve (ref. M0A10205) is water-impervious to 50 meters and is coordinated to a square-scale earthy colored croc tie got by a triple collapsing clasp. Retail cost, to be affirmed at SIHH 2015, will associate with Euro 3,400/US$ 4,000. baume-et-mercier.com
