Omega – Speedmaster Professional Mark II “Rio 2016”
The re-presentation of the Speedmaster Mark II early this year was welcome by numerous Omega enthusiasts. Omega is currently introducing an accolade form, the Speedmaster Mark II “Rio 2016”, devoted to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where Omega will assume the job of Official Timekeeper. The 27th edition of the Olympic Games marks the first time a South American city has the occasion.
The three sub-dials of the new model variety are enhanced by rings in bronze, silver and gold which effectively review the medals granted to the Olympic bosses respected with the platform. Bronze is utilized for the 30-minute recorder at 3 o’clock, silver for the little seconds at 9 o’clock and, at long last, yellow gold for the 12-hour recorder at 6 o’clock.
Roused by the 1969 model of the first Omega Speedmaster Mark II, the cleaned and brushed hardened steel case is barrel-formed with cleaned crown and pushers and offers water protection from 100 meters/330 feet. Its measurements are 42.4 mm x 46.2 mm.
A particular detail, the straightforward tachymeter scale on the sapphire precious stone is enlightened from underneath by an aluminium ring loaded up with Super-LumiNova. The stained white and dark hour and moment hands hang out in the matt dark dial. They are covered with Super-LumiNova, similar to the focal chronograph hand.
The Speedmaster Mark II “Rio 2016” is controlled by a self-winding segment wheel chronograph development, the Omega type 3330, furnished with a Si14 silicon balance spring and a Co-Axial escapement with three levels. The force save is 52 hours.
The logo of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is stepped on the screw-in caseback which is engraved with “Si14”, “Section Wheel” and the restricted edition number of the wristwatch. Just 2016 pieces of the Speedmaster Mark II “Rio 2016” will be created by Omega. Retail cost is Euro 4,840.
