Omega – Speedmaster ’57, new 2015 Edition
In 2013, Omega launched a re-edition of the first Speedmaster chronograph model, which dates back to 1957 (we expounded on it here ). The watch has been fruitful thanks to its classic look combined to the magnificent Co-Axial caliber 9300.
Two years later, at Baselworld 2015, Omega introduced an updated rendition of the Speedmaster ’57 so demonstrating a tenacious item enhancement exertion.
The 2015 edition of the Speedmaster ’57 maintains a 41.5 mm diameter with a cleaned and brushed stainless steel casebody that is complemented by its brushed bezel with tachometer scale. The case offers water resistance to 10 bar (100 meters/330 feet).
The black dial, secured by a case structure scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, presently features beige transferred dial indications. Distinguishing this model from its 2013 archetype are the recessed hour markers that are partially loaded up with “vintage” Super-LumiNova that transmits a green light.
Another plan component that is distinctive is the appearance of the hands. The cleaned faceted rhodium-plated central hour and moment hands have been created in the “Broad Arrow” style and they are currently more faithful to the ones utilized in the original of 1957. We like this change.
Alpha-shaped hands are utilized in the small 60-moment and 12-hour recorder at 3 o’clock and the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock.
Matched to a brushed and cleaned stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp or to an earthy colored leather strap with a foldover clasp, the 2015 edition of the Omega Speedmaster ’57 is as yet controlled by the Omega Co-Axial caliber 9300 which is displayed through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The outcome is a decent looking chronograph with an ideal case size and a chronometer-ensured development. The cost for the bracelet form is relied upon to associate with Swiss Francs 7,500. omegawatches.com
