Jaeger-LeCoultre – Reverso à Eclipse Tribute to Vincent van Gogh
The most recent release of the iconic Reverso (you can peruse its set of experiences here ) is an exclusive model created by Jaeger-LeCoultre in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to commemorate the 125th commemoration of the passing of Vincent van Gogh.
Restricted to only five pieces, this Reverso à Eclipse gives proper respect to the Dutch post-impressionist painter by including a scaled down polish dial which reproduces one of his celebrated masterpieces, the Sunflowers, and in particular an adaptation painted in 1889 currently possessed by the Van Gogh Museum.
The protected shade arrangement of the Reverso à Eclipse consists of a roller arranged at 2 o’clock, a smaller than expected chain and a screw to open or close the watch dial screens engraved with numerals. A straightforward motion is sufficient to reveal the 18-carat gold plate decorated with the finish smaller than expected of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers.
The pink gold case houses the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture Caliber 849, a physically wound mechanical development crafted, collected and decorated by hand which beats at 21,600 vibrations each hour and ensures 35 hours of force hold.
The Reverso à Eclipse Tribute to Vincent van Gogh (ref. Q37724EL) will be in plain view at the Van Gogh Museum from September fourth 2015, when the new entrance building is officially initiated. jaeger-lecoultre.com
