Breguet – Secret de la Reine
In 1783, Elisabeth Vigée-Le Brun painted a picture of the sovereign of France named “Marie-Antoinette with the rose”. The Breguet assortment entitled La Rose de la Reine acquired the rose of the representation to reproduce it as a shell appearance, a traditional create from southern Italy which comprises of cutting by hand a relief picture on a shell.
At BaselWorld 2014, Breguet introduced another variant of the Secret de la Reine, the mysterious watch originally presented a year ago, which holds all the highlights of its predecessor but fitted on a valuable arm band of material of gold, mimicking the circles of a creased lace.
As is traditional with secret watches, the time – here demonstrated by the mark Breguet open-tipped hands – is uncovered by pushing on the cameo rose. The dial cleared with brilliants is advanced at 12 o’clock by an emblem in white mother-of-pearl with the Breguet name.
Accessible in rose or white gold and brightened with 596 splendid cut jewels (around 4,132 carats), this valuable watch houses oneself winding type 586 development visible through a glass with against reflective coating on both sides.
